A Meeting of the Poles of World Culture: St. Petersburg–Paris
The Second Eurasian Women’s Forum hosted an exhibition of works by women artists
The Second Eurasian Women’s Forum impressed its participants not only with its business programme but also with a rich variety of cultural events. An art exhibition of works by women artists titled ‘The Global Museum. A Meeting of the Poles of World Culture: St. Petersburg–Paris’ took place within the Forum.
St. Petersburg and Paris are both the capitals of world culture where artists coming from all over the world get filled with inspiration.
The joint exhibition of contemporary works by Russian women artists and those from abroad provided the Forum with the atmosphere of mutual understanding and positive thinking.
The event once again proved that women played a significant role in forming cultural and social aspects of societal development.
The exhibition presented 17 pictures and two showcases displaying Russian museum-level decorative artworks. A number of galleries of St. Petersburg and Paris alongside with the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation took active part in preparation of the event.
Organisers of the exhibition believe that presenting the Global Museum brand at the Second EWF expressed the Forum’s dedication to the ideas declared by UNESCO in protecting cultural diversity. It also emphasized Russia’s role in promotion of world culture by means of building creative bridges between its commonly recognised poles.
