FEATURES OF THE WOMEN’S ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Women’s entrepreneurship becomes an integral part of economic structure of our country. More and more business organisations run by women appear in Russia. There are many persevering, energetic, and successful women nowadays.
On the October 28th, many projects were presented on the meeting with Valentina Matvienko, Chairperson of the Federation Council. Every woman that shared her business story deserves respect. Their business opened, many women strive not only for realising their potential but also for helping people around, bringing as much benefit to the society as they can.
Thus, Yekaterina Postoyeva shared her story of creating and developing of her business – company that produces ice cream in Volgograd. It is interesting that there is a certain idea in this project: “There is a special attitude to ice-cream in Volgograd. The thing is, that it was ice-cream factory that opened first after the Great Patriotic War. That is why the ice-cream is a symbol of peace for us. We want to return the lapsed popularity of Volgograd ice-cream. Make all efforts possible to distribute franchise and our own networks all over our country”, tells Yekaterina.
It is important to mention that the profit is not the main target of Yekaterina’s business: “We use the high quality Russian product in the process of making of our ice-cream. I think our project is very important for development of economy of the whole country because we strive for supporting the national production. Besides, we promote healthy living with our project. We prove that the food can be accessible, tasty, and healthy at the same time. This is very important”, comments Yekaterina.
By the way, the idea of opening the own business of producing ice-cream came up suddenly: in the framework of special practical course, Yekaterina and her future husband decided to start dairy products sales. The project turned out to be successive and later escalated into family business. Never be afraid to start something new even if the idea seems senseless. “I do like ice-cream and dairy products but I never thought I would ever be able to come to grips with this activity. Even during the course we didn’t think that the project could turn into big deal. Now our company is a winner in regional and federal competitions”, says the businesswoman.
Yekaterina says that social orientation is one of the peculiarities of her business: “We often take part in various campaigns and engage customers to them. For example, sometimes we transfer a share of profits to animal protection funds.”
Yekaterina not only truly loves what she is doing but also tries to support the beginning entrepreneuses. She like nobody else understands how it is important to strive for development of women’s entrepreneurship. Yekaterina Postoyeva is a chairperson of Committee for Development of Women’s Entrepreneurship in Volgograd. She managed to involve about 50 women who are interested in creation and promotion of ecological projects into organisation’s activities within six months. It is important for me, as for the chairperson of this Committee, to support socially oriented businesspersons. I am happy that I had an opportunity to work with people who have proactive attitude to life. People who are interested in promotion of women’s business. Together we do our best to improve the economy situation of the whole country.”
As practice shows, men and women occupying executive positions have different solutions of business tasks, set different goals. However, Yekaterina thinks that we mustn’t separate men and women in business: “Everything depends on certain qualities, knowledge, and skills of leader. The head of organisation must strive for development of company and themselves. We must always remember: behind every strong man stands a strong woman and behind every strong woman stands a strong man. This is a union that must not be broken. Man’s support is very important for women’s entrepreneurship.”
