An explosion of sensations
The first day of the Second Eurasian Women’s Forum concluded with a concert at Mariinsky Theatre
The smooth elegant movements of the dancers brighten up the pictures and figures, conveying the whole gamut of human feelings embodied in the ballet The Seasons. Fragments from the operas of Verdi, Rachmaninov, Puccini, and Bizet performed by leading soloists and the Mariinsky Theatre choir. The scenery that artfully complements each production and, of course, the magic of the symphony orchestra conducted by Mikhail Sinkevich. All this provided an unforgettable evening to the participants of the Second Eurasian Women’s Forum, which is being held on 19-21 September in St Petersburg.
Mariinsky Hall-2 brought together more than 1,000 guests from five continents, who, inspired by the gala concert of opera and ballet and its positive energy, will hold joint discussions tomorrow about issues concerning global security and the sustainability of the world.
After each performance, bravos and long applause rang out throughout the hall, and the rave reviews of the audience continued after the concert in the lobby of the theatre.
I would like to hope that this explosion of sensations got the Forum participants charged up for the next two days of productive work.
