Parvaneh Salahshouri: Looking on the Bright Side
Iranian politician at the Second Eurasian Women’s Forum
Politician from the Islamic Republic of Iran Parvaneh Salahshouri took part in the Second Eurasian Women’s Forum. Journalists of the Eurasian Women’s Community news agency interviewed Ms. Salahshouri and found out about her impressions of the event and issues that were most topical for her.
The main topics discussed at the Second Eurasian Women’s Forum included peace and security. According to Ms. Salahshouri, it is important for her as a sociologist and a Parliament member to discuss such issues in order to understand how to make the lives of men and women better and to know what needs to be changed. In addition, the politician believes that one should pay much attention to sustainable women’s empowerment.
“Peace, security, and empowering women are the main steps on the way to achieving sustainable development”, says Ms. Salahshouri.
The politician believes that today one should speak more about positive changes, events, and achievements worldwide.
“When everything is good, we don’t pay much attention to that actually, but when something is going wrong, people and media focus on that. It is important to learn to notice good things happening around us”.
Parvaneh Salahshouri stresses that such events as the Eurasian Women’s Forum concentrate good news. Within the Forum, women from around the world shared their success stories, exchanged best practices to address relevant issues, and discussed progress in various fields, achievements, and goals to be accomplished.
